# Harry Nisbet

**How long have you been part of the Marketing Signals team, and how did you end up here?**

I’ve been at Marketing Signals for six years now. I joined as an Operations Team Leader after doing a similar role for an accountancy firm, and I’ve gradually worked my way through the business from there. My role has changed quite a bit over the years, but operations and making things work better has always been at the heart of it.

**What does a typical day actually look like for you?**

There probably isn’t a typical day, which is one of the things I enjoy about the role. I can go from working on the wider direction of the business and improving how we operate, to helping solve a client or team problem, recruitment, finances or figuring out how we can use AI to make something better. I tend to be involved wherever there’s a problem to solve or something we can improve.

**What do you enjoy doing outside of work?**

Most of my time outside work is spent with my two boys. When I’m not doing that, I’m usually training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, at the gym, cooking, or finding an excuse to take my car out for a drive.

**What's one thing on your bucket list?**

Going to Japan

**What's one piece of advice you'd give someone starting out in marketing?**

Learn to understand the why behind what you’re doing, not just how to do it. Tools, platforms and tactics change constantly, but if you understand the commercial problem you’re trying to solve, you’ll always be useful.

**What's the one tool or resource you genuinely couldn't work without?**

Teamwork. Pretty much everything we do runs through it in some way. It keeps the work, deadlines and responsibilities visible and, for someone in operations, having one place to see what’s actually going on across the business is invaluable.

I started as Outreach Manager back in 2020, and I'm now General Manager. The team's grown a lot since then, and so has the client list, but the culture that got me interested in the first place hasn't changed.
