# SEO, PPC And GEO As One Integrated Search Strategy

SEO, PPC and GEO run as one programme, with shared query data, one budget and one report covering paid, organic and AI visibility. See how it works.

Organic listings, paid ads and AI answers compete for the same buyers, often on the same screen, and answer to the same commercial targets. An integrated search strategy makes each one more efficient than it can be alone.

We run SEO, PPC and GEO under a single strategy, with shared query data, one report and a budget that can move as the opportunity shifts. Your visibility in Google, AI Overviews and assistants like ChatGPT sits under one roof, with one agency partner accountable for the combined result.

## We’ve Helped Dozens Of Great Brands Grow Their Digital Presence Via Search Marketing

## Running SEO, PPC and GEO under one connected strategy means paid data sharpens organic targeting, organic content earns citations in AI answers, and your budget moves to wherever it’ll work hardest

Should you keep bidding on a term you already rank first for? When an AI Overview sits above your ad and your listing, which of them still earns the click? And why does ChatGPT recommend a competitor in a category you lead on Google?

Every one of these needs paid, organic and AI visibility data in the same place, and an agreement about what success means across all three. Separate agencies with separate contracts and separate targets have no structural reason to work it out, and usually don’t.

Our [glossary](https://marketingsignals.com/glossary) explains share of search, incrementality testing, AI share of voice and the other terms in our reports.

Why Choose Us

## Performance-Driven Digital Marketing Across All Search & AI Surfaces.

## Built Around Search. Measured on Revenue

### Where The Channels Actually Inform Each Other: One Strategy, Three Sets Of Levers

Integration is more than a reporting exercise. It changes what you do: paid search data shapes the organic content strategy, organic ranking gains free up budget to test elsewhere, and the queries that convert decide which AI prompts are worth tracking. Google Ads, Search Console and prompt tracking together tell you more about search intent than any one of them does by itself.

The practical version is a single plan covering paid, organic and AI search, one set of commercial targets, and specialists in each discipline who share an account manager and a view of the same numbers.

- All three channels, one target
- Budget reallocated as performance shifts
- Paid data shapes content and prompts
- Organic gains free up paid budget
- Full SERP and AI answer coverage
- One report: paid, organic and AI

#### We’ll Tell You When To Stop Bidding

Branded keywords and terms you already dominate organically are where paid budgets can leak. Sometimes the paid click is genuinely incremental, protecting against competitor bids or recovering users an AI Overview pushes past your listing. Sometimes it’s buying traffic you already had, and no amount of click through rate reporting will tell you which.

The only way to know is to test it, term by term, and act on what comes back. That test costs us paid management revenue when it goes the other way, which is precisely why an agency running only your PPC has little reason to run it.

#### Budget That Follows The Opportunity

Fixed annual splits between paid, organic and AI search rarely survive contact with a trading year. Rankings arrive, a competitor exits an auction, AI Overviews start appearing on a money term, a seasonal peak lands earlier than forecast.

Running all three under one agreement means we can move spend and effort between them as those things happen, rather than watching an opportunity sit on the wrong side of a contract line. Budget goes where it earns most that month.

#### One Account Manager, One Set Of Numbers

You get a single point of contact across SEO, PPC and GEO, one reporting cycle and one view of performance, with specialists in each discipline behind it.

Reporting shows the combined commercial picture alongside paid, organic and AI share of voice. Where the channels affect each other, we show that rather than letting each report claim the same conversion. Attribution is where most combined reporting quietly falls apart, and AI answers that send no click make it harder.

### An Integrated Programme Built Around Commercial Outcomes

## What You Get From One Search Programme

#### Shared Keyword And Query Research

Researching the same market three times wastes budget and produces three plans that disagree. Our paid and organic search strategy starts from one keyword map for both channels, with the search terms that convert in paid feeding the content plan and deciding which AI prompts we track. Every channel then works towards the same commercial searches.

#### Brand Bidding And Incrementality Tests

Paying for clicks you would have got for free is a quiet leak in many search budgets. Our incrementality testing runs term-by-term tests, split by region or by time, that measure total brand clicks and conversions rather than ad clicks alone, so you know where paid spend protects sales and where it can safely be cut.

#### Budget That Moves Between Channels

A budget split fixed in January cannot follow a trading year that changes month to month. As a search engine marketing agency running all three channels, we manage one budget and reallocate it every month to whichever of paid, organic or AI search is earning the most, judged on blended cost of acquisition rather than each channel’s own claims.

#### Full Results Page Coverage

On your highest-value searches, every slot you do not hold is one a competitor can take. As a search marketing agency covering every surface, we plan ads, Shopping, organic listings and AI Overview citations together for those searches, so you appear in more places at once and spend paid budget only where the organic presence needs support.

#### Market Testing In Paid First

Committing months of SEO work to a product or territory with little demand is an expensive mistake. We test new products, categories and markets in paid search first, using real conversion and cost data to show where demand exists, then point organic and AI search resource only at the opportunities that have already shown they can sell.

#### One Report For Paid, Organic And AI

Separate channel reports each claim the same customer, which makes the total look better than it is. Our integrated search marketing reporting leads with blended cost of acquisition and revenue across every channel, then breaks down paid, organic and AI performance, including AI share of voice, so you can see what the whole programme returned and where the next pound should go.

Integration only matters if it changes how money is spent. These are the services that make paid, organic and AI search work as one programme, each aimed at a lower blended cost of acquisition and fewer pounds spent on customers another channel would have brought in anyway.

## Integrated Campaigns We’re Proud Of

## How Integration Works In Practice

### Shared Query Data

Paid search campaigns reveal which queries convert and at what cost, months before organic search data would show it. That goes straight into keyword priorities, content planning and the prompts we track in AI assistants.

### Full Page And Answer Coverage

Paid ads, shopping, local and organic results, plus a citation in the AI Overview, on the same high-value keywords increase visibility and leave less room on the page for anyone else.

### Market And Category Testing

New products, categories or territories validated in paid before organic and AI search resource is committed, so the slower channels only ever build toward demand that’s been proven.

### Content Written To Be Cited

AI answers often cite pages outside Google’s top 10 and lean on press and review coverage. So organic pages answer questions directly and Digital PR targets the sources assistants quote.

### Incrementality Testing

Structured tests on terms where you already rank well or are cited in the AI Overview establish whether paid spend is adding conversions or duplicating them, so you can act on the answer. The answer usually shifts conversion rates and cost per acquisition together.

### Removing Duplicated Work

Keyword research, competitor analysis, landing page and page speed optimisation, structured data and conversion tracking are done once and used by all three channels.

Six places where running all three channels together changes the outcome.

## How We Run Search As One Programme

### 1. One Audit Across Channels

Paid accounts, organic performance and AI visibility are reviewed together, so we can see where the channels overlap, where they compete for the same clicks and where budget is being spent twice.

### 2. One Plan And One Target

We agree a single plan with shared commercial targets, such as revenue or blended cost of acquisition, so no channel is rewarded for results that come at the expense of another.

### 3. Specialists, One Account Manager

Paid, organic and AI search specialists deliver the work in their own channel, while one account manager owns the plan, the budget and the combined result you are judged on.

### 4. Monthly Reallocation

Each month we review what every channel returned and move budget and effort towards what is working, whether that means shifting spend into paid, pausing terms organic now covers or adding AI work.

### What is integrated search?

Integrated search means running SEO, paid search and GEO (visibility and citations in AI answers from Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and others) as a single programme rather than separate ones. One strategy, one set of commercial targets, shared data, and a budget that can move between the channels.

In practice it means specialists in each discipline working from the same plan and reporting to the same account manager, rather than separate teams optimising toward targets that occasionally conflict.

### Should we bid on keywords we already rank first for?

Sometimes. Paid clicks on terms where you rank organically can be incremental, protecting against competitors bidding on your branded keywords or capturing users who’d otherwise scroll past, especially where an AI Overview sits above your listing. Sometimes they’re paying for traffic you already had.

The answer varies by term, by market and by how aggressive your competitors are. It’s testable, and testing it is a normal part of an integrated programme rather than an awkward conversation between two agencies.

### Is integrated search right for every business?

No. If you’re investing seriously in only one channel, or paid sits with an in-house team you’re happy with, running the channels separately is perfectly sensible, and our Organic Search, Pay Per Click and AI SEO & GEO services exist for exactly that.

Integration earns its place when the channels are running at enough scale for the interaction between them to matter, and when you’d rather hold one agency partner accountable for the combined result than manage several.

### Does it cost more than running the channels separately?

Not inherently. The overall investment reflects the work in each channel, much as it would separately. Where integration saves money is in duplication: keyword research, competitor analysis, technical and page speed work, structured data and conversion tracking done once rather than for each channel.

The larger saving is usually in wasted spend, from paid budget on terms that didn’t need it and organic or AI content effort on categories paid data would have shown were unviable.

### Can we start with one channel and add the others later?

Yes, and plenty of clients do. Starting with paid while organic foundations are built is common, and GEO usually follows the organic work, because AI answers draw on the same crawlable, well-structured pages.

The programme becomes integrated when the channels run under one strategy. Adding another channel as a separate workstream gives you more channels, not an integrated programme.

### How do you measure a combined programme?

Against commercial outcomes first (revenue, pipeline, blended cost of acquisition), then channel detail underneath, pulled from Google Ads, Search Console, Google Analytics and AI prompt tracking into one view. The point of one programme is that you can see what the whole thing returned rather than reading separate reports that each claim credit.

Where the channels influence each other, we show it. AI visibility is reported as mentions, citations and share of voice, since many AI answers send no click. We’d rather explain what we can and can’t separate than present a clean number that isn’t true.

### How is this different from using three specialist agencies?

Good specialist agencies for SEO, PPC and GEO will each do good work in their channel. What they won’t do is trade budget between them, tell you to stop bidding on a term because the organic listing has it covered, or share the query data that decides which AI prompts are worth winning.

That isn’t a criticism of them. It’s a structural consequence of three contracts and three sets of targets, with each agency reporting the same conversion as its own. Whether it matters depends on how much the interaction between your channels is actually worth.

### Does this include Digital PR and AI search?

Yes. GEO is part of the programme: the queries that convert in paid and organic decide which prompts we track in AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini, and organic pages are written to be cited, not just to rank.

Digital PR is added where it earns its place, since coverage and brand mentions shape what AI assistants recommend as well as organic authority. It all sits under one plan.

### How does an integrated approach handle search intent?

By mapping intent across the whole journey rather than per channel. Research-stage questions are often answered in AI Overviews and assistants, so the organic page needs to be the source that gets cited. Ready-to-buy queries often justify paid, where you can control the message and the landing page precisely.

Running all three means you can cover the full path without any channel overpaying for traffic another serves better. It’s one of the clearest practical gains from a unified keyword and prompt strategy.

### Do you take over accounts from other agencies?

Frequently, and usually one channel at a time rather than everything at once. A typical route in is taking on paid or organic, running it for a quarter, then adding the other channels once there’s a track record.

We’d start with a review of what’s already running, including what AI assistants say about you now. There’s normally more value in existing accounts and rankings than a rebuild would suggest.

### Should we stop bidding on our brand name?

Sometimes. Bidding on your own brand protects sales where competitors bid on your name, or where ads and AI Overviews push your organic listing down the page. Where neither happens, brand ads can buy traffic you would have had anyway. Marketing Signals answers the question with incrementality testing: splitting brand campaigns by region or by time, measuring total brand clicks and conversions rather than ad clicks, then keeping spend where it adds sales and cutting it where it does not.
