The Boring Stuff

Cookie Policy

How we use cookies on this website, and how to change your choices.

This policy explains which cookies the Marketing Signals website uses, why, and how you can change your choices. It sits alongside our privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. Others help us understand how the site is used or measure our advertising, and we only set those if you agree.

Your choices

When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics and marketing cookies. Until you choose, and if you reject them, only strictly necessary cookies are used. You can change your mind at any time by selecting “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page.

We use Google Consent Mode, so Google’s tags respect your choice: if you decline, Google Analytics and Google Ads do not set cookies.

The cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary: keep the site working and remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics tells us which pages are read and how visitors find and move through the site. The data is aggregated, and we use it only to improve the site.
  • Marketing: Google Ads, Meta and Microsoft Advertising cookies tell us whether our adverts lead to enquiries and help us show relevant adverts on other sites.

Third-party services

Some pages include content from other services. Our videos are played through Vimeo with its “do not track” setting, so Vimeo does not set tracking cookies. Our booking calendar is provided by Calendly, which may set its own cookies when you use it; see Calendly’s cookie policy for details.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working, and we will ask for your cookie choice again on your next visit.
